The Building
The group chat for 4B & friends. Gloria runs it like she still runs the boiler.
Every contact is a character — with their own hours, moods, and memory, running on your own machine. They start the conversation. They remember last month.
Characters have their own awake hours. A night owl messages you at 1am because that's who she is. The clingy ones double-text. The quiet ones go quiet for days. The app sends real push notifications — so they reach you whether the app is open or not.
// each character has a schedule, a mood, and a reason to reach out
Every conversation builds into a plain-markdown memory file you can open and edit in any text editor. Characters bring up things you told them last month. In group chats, they share history with each other — so they can gossip about that thing you said.

Everything runs on your computer against a local AI model (Ollama). No cloud, no account, no sign-up, no telemetry. The app phones home for nothing — and you don't have to take our word for it, because all the code is AGPL and free forever.
// open the source. read every line. it's all there.
One installer. It talks to a local AI model on your machine — one model powers every character. No terminal required; if you can install an app, you're set.
Open the in-app gallery and install The Building for free, or load any pack. Each character is a plain personality file — read it, tweak it, make them yours.
Close the window. They keep their own hours. Luna will text you when the ISS goes over — even if that's 1am — and pick up right where you left off.
Hand-written characters who know each other. Start with The Building — free, in the app — or browse the store.
